The Holy Qur’an is an infinite ocean of knowledge, wisdom, and profound meanings. Since the time it was revealed to the Prophet, Muhammad ﷺ, scholars have continuously endeavored to unravel its truths, explore its concepts and applications, seek out its wonders and divine injunctions. Yet, to this day, no one has ever been able to claim that they have comprehended all the depths and dimensions of this boundless sea of wisdom. In the course of history, there are certain works that stand as definitive references in their respective fields. Al-Itqān fī Ulūm ul-Qurān is among such masterpieces. It is renowned for its remarkable comprehensiveness and encyclopedic character, encompassing the full spectrum of Qurʾānic sciences. Based upon and extracted from, synthesizing, all the major works that preceded it, the author produced a new and unparalleled composition a true phenomenal in the field. Although its central subject is Ulūm al-Qurān (the science of the Qurān), However, the author’s inclination towards Taṣawwuf naturally found expression within it. Consequently, the work contains significant discussions related to Taṣawwuf, reflecting the author’s spiritual insight alongside his scholarly rigor.
