Abstract

The character building of children is a fundamental responsibility of parents, families and society, as emphasized in the Qur’anic teachings. In the contemporary era, rapid social transformation and increasing exposure to modern influences have made the process of moral and spiritual upbringing more complex than ever before. This study explores the Qur’anic perspective on child development, focusing on the role of parents and society in shaping the ethical, intellectual and spiritual personality of children. The research highlights that the Qur’an provides a comprehensive framework for upbringing based on faith, moral discipline, responsibility and balanced development. It further examines the impact of parental behavior, family environment and social structures on the formation of children’s character. The study also discusses the classification of children’s mental abilities and the importance of individualized attention in education and training. Drawing upon Qur’anic injunctions, Hadith literature, and classical Islamic scholarly works, this paper emphasizes that effective character building requires cooperation between parents, educational institutions and society. The findings suggest that adherence to Qur’anic principles ensures the development of a morally sound and socially responsible generation capable of meeting contemporary challenges.
