The Principles of Hadith (Uṣūl al-Ḥadīth) constitute a vital discipline within Islamic studies, focusing on the critical evaluation of Hadith texts in terms of their authenticity, transmission, and scholarly interpretation. This research paper explores effective strategies for teaching this discipline by integrating traditional pedagogical approaches with contemporary educational methodologies. It discusses key components of Hadith instruction, including a step-by-step introduction to fundamental concepts, classification of Hadith, critical analysis of matn (text) and sanad (chain of transmission), and the methodological frameworks established by classical scholars. Furthermore, the paper examines the application of modern teaching tools—such as digital resources, multimedia presentations, research-based assignments, collaborative discussions, and online assessments—to enhance student engagement and understanding. By bridging classical content with modern pedagogical practices, this study underscores the significance of incorporating educational technology to make the teaching of Uṣūl al-Ḥadīth more accessible, interactive, and effective for contemporary learners.
