Abstract

Modern Urdu short story serves as a profound reflection of contemporary social consciousness. A significant facet of contemporary life is "education," which encompasses diverse social, political, economic, and psychological dimensions. Modern Urdu short stories skillfully depict these varied perspectives and contextual nuances, critically highlighting administrative dynamics, prevailing concepts, and institutional realities of academic life. Furthermore, educational environments and pedagogic activities are articulated with cognitive depth and critical awareness through compelling narratives and characterization. This research paper explores the representation of educational consciousness within modern Urdu short stories, encompassing various dimensions of Pakistan's educational system. To substantiate the critical discourse, representative and meaningful textual excerpts from the works of modern short story writers have also been incorporated and analyzed.
