This study examines the historical foundations and gradual evolution of Pakistan-China relations, highlighting the enduring friendship between the two countries over seven and a half decades. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1951, Pakistan and China have developed a close and multifaceted partnership based on mutual trust, mutual respect, shared strategic interests, and consistent diplomatic support. Despite changing regional and international political dynamics, their relationship has demonstrated remarkable resilience and continuity, earning recognition as an exemplary model of interstate friendship. The study explores the major historical milestones that have shaped bilateral relations, including diplomatic cooperation, political and strategic coordination, defence collaboration, economic engagement, and mutual support on regional and international platforms. Particular attention is given to Pakistan's role in facilitating China's diplomatic outreach to the international community and China's continued support for Pakistan in addressing its economic, security, and developmental challenges. It also examines the transformation of bilateral relations from traditional diplomatic and strategic cooperation into a comprehensive partnership, particularly through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which has introduced new opportunities for regional connectivity, infrastructure development, trade, and economic integration. Furthermore, the study reflects on the historical significance of this 75-year partnership and considers its future prospects in the context of emerging geopolitical challenges, regional stability, technological advancement, and changing global power dynamics. Adopting a historical and analytical approach, the research argues that the sustainability of Pakistan-China friendship depends not only on its historical legacy but also on strengthening people-to-people exchanges, educational and cultural cooperation, economic collaboration, and strategic coordination. It concludes that the partnership remains a vital pillar of regional peace, stability, and development, with considerable potential to contribute to a more interconnected and cooperative international order.
