Marriage (Nikah) and the sanctity of marriage occupy a central position in the moral and social structure of Islamic society. Islam presents marriage not merely as a legal contract but as a sacred institution designed to preserve human dignity, moral purity, and social stability. This study explores the concept of Nikah and the sanctity attached to it in Islamic teachings, with particular emphasis on their role in strengthening ethical values and maintaining social order. Drawing upon the Qur’an, Sunnah, and classical Islamic jurisprudence, the research analyzes how marriage functions as a safeguard against moral deviation, protects lineage, and promotes mutual responsibility and compassion within the family system. The study further highlights that the sanctity of marriage contributes significantly to social harmony by regulating interpersonal relationships and reinforcing ethical boundaries. The paper concludes that adherence to the principles of Nikah and the sanctity of marriage is essential for the moral integrity and sustainable development of Islamic society.
